The service is provided in association with Portland Stevedoring Limited and vessels can directly discharge from the deep water berths into the 12,000 cubic metre capacity reception tanks. A barge service is available for vessels wishing to discharge at anchor.

Portland Port offers reduced tariffs to ships using the reception facility and all documentation and licensed disposal is managed by KD Offshore in accordance with both UK environmental and MARPOL regulations.

The facility can receive large volumes of tank washings from marine tankers, including low flash products and other difficult wastes subject to analysis.

All wastes received are treated to enable product recycling whenever possible and the water to be discharged under environmental licence. The marine waste management services and treatment provided by KD Offshore has been certificated to ISO 9002 Quality Assurance.
